The Consortium for the Advancement of Adult Higher Education (CAAHE), founded in 1990 under the leadership of the Institute for Professional Development (IPD), is a self-supporting organization of private colleges, universities, and institutions committed to meeting the learning needs of adult students through innovative approaches to higher education.
The purpose of CAAHE is to promote and facilitate the sharing of ideas, information, techniques, practices, and resources among member institutions by identifying areas of common interest, including curriculum, assessment of prior learning, outcomes assessment, financial issues, student services, and administrative systems.
CAAHE publishes a newsletter three times a year, sponsors one biennial conference, and supports five commissions - Curriculum, Faculty Services, Financial Aid, Information Systems & Educational Technology, and Student Services. The Academic Services, Curriculum, and Student Services commissions sponsor an annual conference in addition to the biennial CAAHE Conference.
